R&D Development Pipeline

IBIS will establish an R&D Development Pipeline, providing access to high-end equipment, verified protocols, and expertise for efficient biofertilizer identification, scaling, and field trials. This infrastructure will enable benchmarking of existing biofertilizer candidates across the entire development process, from discovery to field testing.

Benchmarking

This infrastructure will enable benchmarking of existing biofertilizer candidates across the entire development process, from discovery to field testing. Public and private stakeholders can further use the pipeline to advance their biofertilizer leads, while IBIS generates benchmark data on current biofertilizer solutions.

Data-Driven Optimization

The pipeline will ensure standardized data generation and collection (high-quality datasets). The benchmarking data sets, coupled with the use of artificial intelligence, will allow for the identification of key traits for “good” biofertilizer solutions, as well as in-depth characterization. This will further enable the formulation of predictive models that can guide R&D and formulate hypotheses regarding the biofertilizers’ behavior that can then be tested in field-trials.

Open and Global Innovation Ecosystem

The IBIS R&D pipeline is built on collaboration and flexibility, allowing partners to contribute elements based on their expertise. External collaborators - including universities, research institutions, and industry players - can join through the OIS program, bringing in new technologies, methods, and insights. This open, global approach ensures the pipeline evolves continuously while fostering a shared innovation ecosystem for biofertilizer development.
